ARIS Connector for SAP Solutions installation
This document describes how to use ARIS Connector for SAP Solutions in your next ARIS upgrade.
You are currently using ARIS in a cloud scenario, such as ARIS Enterprise edition that requires a VPN connection for data exchange between ARIS and SAP® Solution Manager 7.2. You agreed on getting rid of the VPN connection and use the new ARIS Connector for SAP Solutions instead. This document describes the needed steps to install and configure this connector.
ARIS Connector for SAP Solutions is located within your protected network and communicates within it with your SAP system. The data transfer between the connector and ARIS runs via REST API. The credentials used for authentication are strongly encrypted. SAP credentials are no longer required in ARIS. The credentials are stored only as highly encrypted parameters in the associated ARIS Connector for SAP Solutions configuration files that reside on your secure network.
How to proceed
After you have created an upgrade ticket and received an e-mail with information on how to continue, proceed as follows:
Download and install ARIS Connector for SAP Solutions on a machine in your network, and pre-configure basic connection parameters. The connector will not run properly because mandatory values will be available only after the upgrade to ARIS 10 Service Release 18 or later.
Confirm that the connector is installed. You must confirm before the preferred upgrade date. We perform the upgrade on the agreed date and provides the corresponding information by the support ticket.
Warning
Note that in your upgraded version, you cannot use SAP synchronization until you migrated your solution configurations in ARIS Architect.
