Import and merge the GDPR method extension filter

Import and merge the GDPR method extension filter. It adds derived and user-defined method constructs (model types, object types, symbols, connection types, attribute type groups, and attribute types) to the ARIS method. These method constructs are required for GDPR regulation. All other accelerators are based on this enhanced ARIS method.

To use the GDPR method extensions, use the Entire method filter or add the GDPR method extensions to any existing ARIS GRC filter. The GDPR method extension filter contains only additional enhancements for GDPR which are based on the GRC method. For detailed information on the GRC method, refer to the convention manuals delivered with ARIS Risk and Compliance.

Procedure. Procedure

  1. Start ARIS.

  2. Log in as system user.

  3. Click Application launcher Application launcher > Administration Administration. Configuration Configuration is displayed.

  4. Click Conventions.

  5. Click Filters on the left.

  6. Click Import Import. The Import filter dialog opens.

  7. Click Select file.

  8. Navigate to the directory in which the unzipped data of the ARIS Accelerators for GDPR-<version number>.<change list number>.zip (Example: ARIS Accelerators for GDPR-10.0.10.1.1263081.zip) is stored.

  9. Select the path GDPR accelerator > Filter, then select the file GDPR method extension.filter.

  10. Click Open.

  11. Click Import. The filter is imported into the tenant and added to the list of filters.

  12. Merge the GDPR method extension filter with GRC filters in use, if necessary.

    1. In the row of the GDPR method extension filter, click More More > Edit Edit filter > Merge filters. The Edit filter panel opens.

    2. Select the filter you want to merge with the GDPR method extension filter.

    3. Click Merge filters.

The filter is created. It combines all settings of the merged filters.

Important: Now you must specify this filter as the default filter for your GDPR databases in ARIS (Administration Administration > Configuration Configuration > Databases, select the relevant database, click More More > Default filter).
